Inspiration

Inspired by Schiaparelli's vintage baroque rococo design style as well as Elsa Schiaparelli's collaborations with Salvador Dali . Surrealist Suit pays tribute to Elsa Schiaparelli's explorations of the surrealist world,  her charming design elements and her studies of anatomy.

Construction

The two-piece suit consists of a blazer and a pant ensemble constructed from suiting material. The Surrealist blazer has many interesting design features including golden frog clasps as closures, flap pockets, facial anatomy applique’s, a unique flat collar, and an open golden vent on the back. Certain design features in the ensemble reflect Elsa Schiaparelli’s quirky sense of design including interesting closures that are a trademark in the fashion house of Schiaparelli. The use flap pockets with facial anatomy features also pay tribute to Elsa’s bureau-drawer suit and her exploration of Surrealism. The Surrealist pants include the continuation of facial anatomy appliques, as well as top stitched patch pockets.
